3ds max Daylight system

IN CLASS TUTORIAL : DAYLIGHT SYSTEM

I learn how to give some lighting to the object in 3ds max. The lecturer ask us to create a simple teapot first and he also show us how to set the material of the teapot by material editor. Then we can put the "sun" above the teapot to see how's the lighting.

I need to set the daylight parameters properly. Sunlight sets as "mr Sun" and skylight sets as "mr Sky". We can set the position of the sun which is the light source manually or according to the date, time and location that you are located.

After done, I change the renderer to NVIDIA mental ray. It is difference from others renderer as we can see the display screen shows it renders fractal by fractal.

The output :

The Teapot

Besides, I also try this techniques on another object that I created, the Phoenix.

I extrude all the shapes that I wanted out from a box.

Set the daylight system properly.

Set the material of the object.

The output :

OK, teapot win.
